Good nutrition gives you energy, prevents disease and promotes good health. Let’s look at some of the most important nutrients that your diet needs to have.

Vitamin C

Found in most fruits and vegetables, Vitamin C supports the immune system. It is a powerful antioxidant that helps boost blood vessel health and produce collagen. It provides your muscles, bones, skin, and connective tissue with sufficient nutrients.

Vitamin B

B11, B7, B6, B3, B2 and B1 are all antioxidants that are critical in maintaining your health. B vitamins produce energy, create a healthy nervous system, and aid in digestion. You can find B vitamins in a number of foods including whole grains, lean meat, leafy greens and eggs.

Fish Oil

Omega 3 fatty acid is found in fish oil and supports healthy muscles and a healthy heart. It increases the amount of blood flowing to your muscles, diminishes inflammation, and reduces the amount of protein that the muscles break down. Omega 3’s are found in cold water fish, flax seed, walnuts, hemp seeds and Chia seeds.

Vitamin E

Provides your body with healthy fats, protein, and fiber. It aids your muscles in recovery after your workout and it boosts muscular development. Vitamin E is found in nuts and seeds.

Vitamin D

It can improve one’s mood, build muscle, and strengthen the immune system. It is essential for muscular growth and function. Just 20 minutes of sunshine a day will give you your vitamin D.

Calcium

Calcium is necessary for strong bones and muscles. It is found in low fat milk, yogurt, cheese, almonds, turnips greens, and other dark leafy vegetables.

Magnesium

Will promote cardiac health and muscle health. Magnesium combats sore muscles and reduces muscle cramping pain. It is found in whole grains, nuts, and spinach.

With these seven nutrients in your diet you will lead a healthier life.
